Ms. Daryl Silberman is a professional violinist/violist, an orchestra director at Scullen Middle School in Naperville, IL, and a director for the Youth Symphony of DuPage. “Ms. S” studied viola performance at the University of Colorado at Boulder, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and University of Southern California and teaches with her 5-string violin. She has been a private studio teacher, high school orchestra director (including at Waubonsie Valley High School for 10 years), youth orchestra director and freelance violist and violinist in Illinois, Oregon, and California performing with regional orchestras, rock bands, movie studio orchestras, chamber groups, and baroque ensembles. Daryl is also a 200RYT yoga instructor and mindfulness trained educator.

She has served as a guest conductor and clinician for middle and high school orchestras all around the country and has presented at many national and state educator conferences. Additionally she has been a virtual coach for the Illinois Education Association, mentoring 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year music teachers in the state. She was named as one of “50 Directors Who Make a Difference” (representing the state of Oregon) in 2011 by School Band and Orchestra magazine.
